Woodbrook Players

Brown Memorial Woodbrook is home to a dynamic group of individuals that share a passion for creating theatre. Dramatized readings of scripture are a frequent part of worship services and it has become a cherished custom to present lively entertainment at the annual Christmas dinner. Over the past decade the Players have become an integral part of the church’s outreach mission by mounting fall and spring productions and reaching out to the greater community for our audience, actors and technicians.

Our primary focus is on presenting programs of one-act plays with an occasional full length play. We have presented works by Thorton Wilder, Shirley Jackson, Edward Albee, and William Shakespeare, as well as local playwrights including Stephen Vicchio, John De Prine, Bill Duff and Jo Sacks.

The Players include members from the congregation as well as the surrounding community. Newcomers who share a passion for live theatre are not only needed but most welcome. Those interested in auditioning, working backstage, building sets, or other ways to be involved may contact us at [email protected].
