Young Children and Worship
Each Sunday morning we offer to families with young children, and opportunity for those children from about 3 years to 9 years of age to interact with a Bible Story. Children are invited to come forward to hear a message during the Time for All God’s Children in the worship service. Children then adjourn to a classroom to experience a Bible Story with a story teller and props. Children may use wooden figures, a desert box or dimensional material to experience the story in a multi sensory manner. Children are encouraged on a regular basis to retell the story to each other.
In the spring of 2014 Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the Christian Church, we were able to award nineteen Bibles to thirteen families that had been involved in our Sunday morning Church School during the past year.
For more information, please contact Karen Bartell, Director of Christian Education at email@example.com or call her at 410 377-7232 Ext. 12.
Each Sunday morning, child care for children younger than three years of age is offered to families in our Nursery room. Please speak to an usher to avail yourself of these services.
The church in conjunction with the Weekday School has a free community program for young families. This weekly Story Time Play Group is for young children (birth through 3 years) and their caretakers. We provide an opportunity for parents/caregivers to bring their young children for a variety of interactive activities.
Summer Bible Nature Camp
During the second week of July children ages 3-9 are invited to participate in a week long camp experience. Children explore the campus of the church, participate in the community garden, do science experiments, sing songs, do drama, crafts and story telling.
